Right now, we all need a little self-care. Yet as moms we tend to spend more time taking care of everyone else instead of taking care of ourselves. Practicing self-care doesn’t mean going to the spa or getting a manicure every two weeks. If you’re stressed out and looking for simple ways to practice self care read these life-changing self-care tips for busy moms

Self-care Tips for Busy moms pin

1. Change Your Mindset

When you change your mindset happiness and success is inevitable. If your not happy you need to make a change or your life will stay the same.

How to change your Mindset some of Self care tips are:

  • Avoid negativity (including negative people)
  • Meditate
  • Read
  • Listen to podcasts
  • Connect and follow people who are living the way you want to live
  • Turn your negative thoughts into positive thoughts
  • Have faith
  • Be patient

2. Nutrition

If you are feeling tired, starving, bloated, or cranky chances are you need to change your diet. Self care tips starts from within. You must be careful what you put in your body. I am sure you heard the saying “we are what we eat” With that saying in mind eating healthier food and drinking plenty of water will make you feel better over all.

Here are simple ways to eat healthier for busy moms,

  1. Meal kit subscription
  2. Meal planning
  3. Meal prepping
  4. Instant Pot

3. Get Fit

We all know that exercise is good for us so physically and mentally. Did you know by exercising you can relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Many moms say they are to busy to exercise but there are ways you can fit exercise in your busy routine.

When I was working full-time at a corporate office I used to go for a long walk during my lunch break. I also use to jog up and down stairs during my 10 minute breaks.

Here are other ways you can fit exercise in your busy schedule:

  1. HIIT workouts
  2. Wake up before the kids and go for a walk or run.
  3. Clean the house to dance music.
  4. Play tag with your kids.
  5. Ride a bike to work
  6. Walk around Target or the mall for 30 minutes (I do this every week )

4. Build Confidence

If you don’t like something about your self, change it. If you don’t want to be overweight, exercise. If you feel like your failing as a parent read books or blogs about parenting or take a parenting class about Self care tips . If you want to make YouTube videos but lack the confidence to be on camera practice.

Sometimes we have to be uncomfortable to be successful.

For example if you’re afraid of public speaking the best way to get over the fear is publicly speak. You can start in front of one person, then 5, then 20, and so on.

Ask yourself this, how much happiness and success has being shy or comfortable got you?

4. Educate Yourself

When I became I mom I found myself learning something new everyday. Google became my best friend in this time.

In all the years we spend going to school no one prepares us for the most important job of our life, Motherhood.

Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual. As a new mom it is up to you to educate yourself. I love to learn and share new mom hacks and baby tips because they save time and worry.

Is there something you always wanted to learn how to do or a skill you wanted to improve? You can  learn so many things on the internet while your baby naps or sleeps.

When you learn something new you are saving yourself stress and building confidence.

5. Feel Beautiful

Now that you have learned how to feel beautiful on the inside I want to share how you can feel beautiful on the outside. I don’t know about you but I feel beautiful when my hair and skin look healthy.

Therefore I use naturally based anti-aging vegan hair and skin care products. Monat hair products penetrate the hair making it healthy from the inside out while promoting hair growth. Our beauty products are clinically proven and dermatoglist approved Self care tips.

6. Be Social

Being a new mom can become lonely. Even though your with your baby 24/7 you may still feel alone since your baby can’t talk to you yet.

Before I had my baby I had told friends and family that I wanted alone time when my baby was born. After having my daughter I regretted that decision because I could have used the help.

If you feel like you are alone reach out to other moms. You can join a moms group or local club. You will find that many moms can relate to your current situation and love to offer help and advice. Facebook is a great place to find moms group.

7. Treat Yo Self

Even though mindfulness is important, occasional mindlessness is also important. Once in a while it is ok to binge watch The Office on Netflix, indulge in a bowl of rocky road ice cream during your period, or go to the mall with your friends even when you don’t have money.

Sometimes, we can forget to enjoy our selves when we become mothers because we are too stressed, tired, or just feel too busy to relax.

8. Appreciate Yourself

When you do something for yourself, something that makes you happy, you may find yourself to be less angry and stressed and more focused and patient as a mom.

Sometimes we are harder on ourselves than we are on other people. If you know you are doing the best you can with the resources you have then don’t beat yourself up. Instead appreciate all the things you do for you children that nobody did for you.

Be the loving mom that you needed or had growing up. Your children may not appreciate you now but they will when they become parents.

Great tips. I have made a conscious decision to actually do what is necessary to care for myself mind, body and spirit. Nutrition seems so small but plays such a huge role. Thanks for the reminder.

Your mindset is the key to making change. How we think and what we think influence so much.
