Baby Essentials

Dock A Tot

3 to 6 month old Dock A Tot

The Dock A Tot is the most registered baby essential!

Baby sleep is priceless!

We used the Dock A Tot to get our baby used to sleeping in her crib. When our baby was around 3 months old, we put her Dock A Tot in her crib for naps (supervised). It prevented her from rolling around in the crib, and she was comfortable in it. She napped longer when using the Dock A Tot.

I also like that Its travel-friendly and she could sleep in any room. Once she turned 6 months old, we took it out of the crib, but we still use it for tummy time and travel.

Tula Explore Baby Carrier

You will love the Tula Explore carrier! It’s comfortable, safe, sturdy, and comes in many beautiful designs. With the Tula Explore carrier,  you can get s#!t done all while keeping your baby safe and comfortable against your chest.

Unlike many other baby carriers, the Tula Explore grows with your baby, has a pocket for your personal items, removable hood, you can carry baby facing out, and no infant insert is required.

Not sure which is the best carrier for you? View Tula’s comparison chart to find the best baby carrier option and watch their instructions videos to see how easy they are to use!

* Before beginning to use the Explore Carrier in the facing out position, your baby should have head and neck control and their chin should clear the top of the panel when facing out. they also suggest a weight range for the facing out position of 13-22lb for shorter intervals of time for optimal comfort. Watch baby for signs of sleepiness or over-stimulation. Baby should not sleep in the front carry facing out position.

Disney Minnie Mouse Teether Book

Your baby can explore the soft pages, soothe teething aches on the teether, activate a fun squeak, and feel the crinkled texture to engage all of their tactile senses. It’s 100% BPA, phthalate, and lead-free, and is safe for children who suffer from asthma.

Baby Touch and Feel: Colors

The Baby Touch and Feel series encourages sensory development, language skills, and early reading skills while teaching colors, shapes, patterns, and opposites.

I found the Colors and Animals Touch and Feel books at Marshalls, but you can purchase them on Amazon too. My baby loves to touch the pages, and because they are board books, she can turn the pages without a scratch.

Skip Hop Reversible Waterproof Foam Baby Play Mat

Skip Hop Play Mat

The Skip Hop Reversible Play Mat is a must-have after your baby learns to roll over during tummy time. My daughter has fallen several times while learning to sit up. She didn’t get hurt or cry because the foam is soft and cushioned. The play mat is also very easy to clean. I vacuum and wipe it down with water wipes or a damp rag!

Skip Hop Explore and More Baby’s View 3-Stage Activity Center

The Skip Hop Activity Center is exactly what you need to entertain your infant while you get things done.

When I have to fold laundry, clean the kitchen, cook dinner, use the bathroom, etc, I put my baby in the Skip Hop Activity Center. You can keep an eye on your baby while completing important daily tasks. I also like that she is learning while she plays!

  • Converts to a play table with a plastic chalkboard surface
  • Discovery Window lets baby see piano and their feet while playing to learn cause and effect through spatial awareness
  • Do not use with children over 25 pounds or over 30 inches. For use only with an infant who can hold up their headrest unaided

Teething Toys

Razberry Teether

My daughter’s teeth started erupting at 4 months old. Se had 4 teeth by the time she turned 6 months old. We tried many teethers before finding some that she enjoyed and were safe.

Caution: We tried the Baby Banana Infant Teething Toothbrush because it was recommended by many moms, but she choked on it!

Here are the teething toys we use:

Razbaby RaZberry Teether

Your baby will love this silicone baby teething ring. You can pop it in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes before giving it to your baby to help soothe her sore gums.

Nuby Silicone TeeThe-EEZ

This was my daughters favorite teether. She would scrape the bristles against her teeth and loves to chew on both sides. It’s easy to clean and doubles as a tooth brush.

Baby-led-weaning

Baby Feeding Gear

We started Baby Led Weaning when our daughter was 6 months old and showing signs that she was ready. Baby Led Weaning, or BLW, means letting your child feed themselves when they are ready to start solids.
