10 Ways To Make Extra Money As A Work From Home Mom

In the past few months many parents are losing their jobs during this pandemic. Some moms are being forced to stay home without pay or work from home.

Fortunately in 2020, there are many ways moms can make extra money working from home. Whether you’re a stay at home mom wanting to earn an income or a working mom looking for a side hustle you can use your phone or computer to make some extra money with these legit work from home opportunities for moms.

If you are still working, now more than ever it is so important to have multiple streams of income.

Work From Home Opportunities

1. Etsy

With Etsy you can use your unique creativity to make an extra income from home. If you are crafty you can make and sell physical products or if you are good at graphic design you can sell your digital products through Etsy.

In 2021 I finally decided to start my own Etsy Shop. I design patriotic apparel and accessories with Canva Pro and use a print on demand service to print and ship the products directly to my customers.

2. Sell Your Stuff

If you’re one the people who are forced to stay home from work or school now is a good time to declutter your home. Separate items that you don’t use but someone else may need. Take pictures and list your items on LetGo, OfferUp, Ebay, Facebook Market Place, or Craigslist. If you have many clothes you don’t wear anymore or have never worn, that are still in good condition, you can sell them on Poshmark or ThredUp.

3. Rakuten

If you already shop online you can use Rakuten, formerly Ebates, to get cash back from many retailers. With the current pandemic many people are ordering everything online. You can download the Rakuten app on your phone or use the browser extension to get cash back on your purchases from many popular retailers. I have earned $40 cashback in my first month of using the app! Here is $10 cash back for joining.

4. Start A Blog

Blogging isn’t an easy way to make money fast but you can definitely make an income over time. If you treat your blog like a business you can earn a substantial income. You don’t need to be a professional writer or web designer.

There are many helpful tools and resources to help you start your own succesful blog.

I use Ipage for hosting. They have great customer service and respond quickly.

Canva Pro is my favorite app for designing graphics and pins.

You can create and customize your own theme with Elementor’s simple drag and drop theme builder plugin. I use Elementor Pro but there is a free version.

I use Mailer Lite for emails subscription. It’s free for the first 1000 subscribers

I get most of my traffic through Pinterest like many mom bloggers. I use Tailwind to save time by scheduling pins.

Use you blog to make passive income with affiliate marketing. I am an affiliate for Ultimate Bundles, ShareASale, Amazon, and Shopstyle Collective.

6. Rent Out a Room

If you have a spare bedroom or empty garage you can rent them out. By renting out your extra space you can earn a monthly income to help pay for your mortgage and utilities.

7. Photography

You can turn your extra room into a studio and start your own photography business from home or you can sell your photography online. Here are the top 11 places to sell your photography.

8. Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants handle email, social media, maintain calendars, schedule meetings, all from home. You can use Fiverr or Flex jobs to find virtual assistant opportunities.

Need help making a resume? You can find premade templates on Canva. You just add your info and change the colors and graphics to personalize it.

9. Babysit/ Daycare

Are you great with kids? Do you have patients and energy to keep up. Parents who still go to work need someone to watch their children since schools are closed. Summer is coming too and parents will need someone to watch their kids. You can use care.com to find parents looking for people to watch their kids.

10. Influencer Marketing

I know this one is overrated but it is still a fun way to make an extra income or earn free stuff. I have received many free items and discounts from companies I love, just for posting photos or posts of myself using their products on Instagram. There are so many free YouTube videos you can watch to learn how to leverage your social media and how to create your own brand.
